EVENT DETAILS:

The Bay Area might very well be the best place in the world to celebrate Halloween. This single day holiday has evolved into so much more for our local culture. With so many parties to attend over the week or even month, most people need at least three, four, sometimes five different costumes to get through all the festivities.

All this revelry can get really expensive, which is why we, the friendly folks at MUSEPOP, have put together this special event for you!

Costume Create will feature some of the Bay Area's best and brightest creatives teaching live costuming and make up tutorials in an open and fun community setting. We will provide a ton of costuming materials, craft, sewing, and paint stations, a mobile workshop, and a bunch of multi-talented helpers to facilitate an amazing DIY Halloween costume for you and your friends. Best of all, tickets start at just $20!

There will be art, music, performances, and we will be providing free photo booths and print stations for all to enjoy. Each night will culminate with a costume contest for those who want to enter their creations, and we will be giving away some great prizes to the winners!

FASHION EXCHANGE DETAILS:

If you have ever been to a fashion exchange, you know how much fun it can be! Raid your closet for those old fun things you know you’re never going to wear again. Suits, hats, shoes, shirts, and scarfs. The more flair the better. Bring an item or two or three, and please make sure they are clean! The fashion exchange is going to make the event extra fun for all, and you never know you might get more than one amazing costume out of the night.

We also encourage you to bring items you would like to decorate. If you have a hat, shoes, or jump suit you'd like to decorate, bring them! If you have an idea for something you need help with, our staff of creatives will lend a hand. We promise to have a plethora of costume accoutrements on hand to inspire your creation!

If you have any questions about the event, would like to help or have a great idea for a presentation, feel free to send us an email. connect(at)musepop.io

Sorry Kiddos! This event is 21+

Yves Saint Croissant

Performance Artist

Born on the stage of the legendary Stud Bar (an over 50 year old queer owned business,) She has become an essential part of San Francisco Drag. It isn’t her mega watt smile or signature blonde bombshell looks that cemented her status but instead it’s her kind heart. Inclusivity and her love of empowering queer people has inspired the events she’s helped create. Among the most notable of these is Creature (a thematic dance party that leans heavy into the darker side of things and highlights immersive performance art) and Drag Queen Story Hour (a program in which Drag artists perform and read books to children.)

If you love drag, or are curious about the process, don't miss this presentation. Yves Saint Croissant will be leading off nightly, so make sure to arrive by 7pm!

Yves Saint Croissant will also be hosting and performing at:
Creature XXVII: Neon Demons // Sat. Oct. 26th 9p-2a // El Rio, San Francisco

Creative Director and San Francisco impresario Micah Burns aka Brunch Life, is a man of many projects. If you have been in San Francisco over the last 10 years you have no doubt seen his work. In addition to being the creative directorial force of the Great Northern, Monarch, and the Pawn Shop, you’ve probably heard of some of his productions such as Solid Gold Jacuzzi and Silky Thunder.

On average, Micah wears costumes more than street clothes. He wears roller skates more than sneakers.

Micah was the undisputed king of costumes in 2018. He created the world renowned Salesforskin Tower. The costume was so big it even had it’s own website, and it couldn't get through some doorways!

If you are the kind of person who is interested in creating the costume of the year, this presentation is for you. Micah will talk us through his creative process and what goes into creating a viral hit.

Haute Mess

Soundtrack / Wednesday October 16

A Bay Area native, Haute Mess (aka Kristen Sunde) began her journey as DJ and promoter in 2011 while hosting an absurdist San Francisco monthly, “Romper Room”. Wild experimentation with every genre gave birth to the Haute Mess sound:catchy hooks with bass-heavy beats that send hips in motion and spread smiles around the dance floor.

Joining the underground party crew Brass Tax in 2012 kicked off a Haute Mess booty-shaking beat parade across California — including monthly residencies at both Amnesia and Bootie Mash-Up (DNA Lounge), and billings at super-extravaganzas like Beats for Boobs, Supper of Survivors, Breakfast of Champions, The Artumnal Gathering, LoveBoat, and Dirtybird Campout. In 2016 she was invited to join the all-female DJ collective Angels of bAss and began weaving her eclectic styles with producing philanthropic events benefiting women’s causes.

Whether it’s warming up a discerning audience with indie-dance, ramping up a festival with funky tech house, or making hearts a’flutter with sexy breaks, Haute Mess hits the right note, spreading dynamic flavors to special events and nightclubs in the Bay Area and beyond.
